WASHINGTON (CN) – The delay and decline in arctic sea ice formation as a result of global warming threatens bearded and ringed seals with extinction across their range, according to the National Marine Fisheries Service. 
According to guardian.co.uk, a dramatic manifestation of climate change is the reduction of ice cover in the Arctic. The extent of the ice has always varied with the seasons and from year to year, creating a challenge for cartographers.
