Who we are
Founded by entrepreneur and Arctic activist Roman Smirnov, ArcticFocus unites freelances and enthusiasts from all over the world who would like to bring problems and issues of the Arctic to public’s view. Authors are free to express their opinions; ArcticFocus.com may agree or disagree with their positions on various topics.
We started in June of 2007 with an audience of just 20/day. In January 2010, we had 25,000 website visits. Today, ArcticFocus contains the largest article database on the Arctic region in the world, with more than 10,000 articles total.
Our cause
ArcticFocus operates as an independent and non-profit news source for those who would like to learn more about the problems facing arctic today. Whether it is global warming that is causing new animal migration patterns, struggle of Polar Bears or a global confrontation for the natural resources, ArcticFocus will deliver you the most complete news and facts.
