Critics wonder at the true need for a “road to nowhere”

Critics of an Alaska project that Congress is all set to approve are dubbing it the “road to nowhere”. A massive public lands bill is all set to reach the final Senate vote today and some environmentalists are saying that the passing of the bill could be disastrous to some Arctic wildlife. One of things that could get the okay is a project that would see the building of a gravel road straight through a national wild life refuge in Alaska. Several hundred thousand migratory birds and salmon call the refuge home, along with a multitude of other Arctic animals including the brown bear, caribou and sea otters. more »
