Arctic on Bush’s mind as his term winds down

In what will most likely be one of his last acts as president of the United States, George Bush has signed off on a directive in dealing with what has become known as the Arctic issue. On Monday he issued the directive indicating the United States’ interest in the Arctic, in particular the region’s oil and natural gas resources. The last directive that was issued in regards to the Arctic was in 1994. more »
