As the need to cross the Arctic’s rugged land increases along with the demand for gas and oil, two companies are teaming up to design a dirigible-like craft to carry large loads across areas without basic infrastructures.

During a Tuesday press conference, Canadian company SkyHook International Inc. announced its collaboration with Boeing to form the craft. According to company officials, the craft is being designed for use in the Arctic’s oil, gas, mining and forestry sectors.
